Injury Update | O’Riordan, Thomas, Finney, Colkett
Connor O’Riordan has been declared fit and available for Saturday’s clash at Wrexham.
The big defender missed the win over Colchester United due to a slight calf injury, but has now returned to training and is in contention to feature at the Racecourse.
Charlie Finney and Charlie Colkett are also available after taking part in the Under-21s’ midweek win at Fleetwood, but fellow midfielder Conor Thomas (calf) is expected to stay sidelined.
Assistant Manager Ryan Dicker said: “Connor O’Riordan will be available for Saturday because he is back in training.
“Conor Thomas is still out so he won’t be ready for a couple of weeks after a slight setback with his calf.
“Charlie Colkett and Charlie Finney both played for the Under-21s on Tuesday and both will be available for the weekend. Finney was taken off as a precaution but he’s fine.
“We have to be careful with Charlie Colkett because he got right the way through pre-season and then picked up a hamstring problem in the final friendly.
“He’s had eight weeks out and we can’t rush him. He’s played in two U21s games – 45 minutes in the first and a bit more in the second – and we have to make sure he doesn’t break down.
“The last thing we want to do is rush him; he has to be physically and mentally right.”
