Everton laboured to a 0-0 draw at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night, making their current run of form a worrying two wins from the last 10 games.

The point wasn’t enough to avoid seeing them drop beneath Luton Town and into the relegation zone – as the Hatters smashed Brighton 4-0.Exclusive: Sean Dyche on mission to take Everton up table - 'We're trying to change the whole culture' - Eurosport

Undoubtedly Sean Dyche will be extremely worried about his sides dying form which has looked a million miles away from how great they looked in the aftermath of the 10-point deduction.

Everton will however feel a little unlucky with a penalty call going against them, one that looked certain to be a penalty.

Ben Godfrey denies a certain goal

During the game, Sky Sports’ coverage was coming from Craven Cottage via the words of Ben Grounds.

There was one huge moment that left him raving about £20m Everton defender Ben Godfrey, thanks to his timely intervention to deny Fulham what looked like a certain goal.

“[Dwight] McNeil sold [Jarrad] Branthwaite horribly short. It put his teammates in so much trouble,” Grounds began.

He then continued to explain that the 26-year-old had just proved why he deserved to be in the team. “But that is why Godfrey is in the team! A stupendous recovery run and sliding tackle that saved a certain goal!”Exclusive: Sean Dyche on mission to take Everton up table - 'We're trying to change the whole culture' - Eurosport

A moment which makes Godfrey look like a high-level defender and proves exactly what he’s capable of when he’s at his best. If he could put in moments like that regularly he could find himself a regular fixture in the team.

Everton need to find a way to play Godfrey

Godfrey hasn’t been a regular this season, with the pair of Branthwaite and James Tarkowski proving an unbreakable duo.
