Wrexham dominated from start to finish against Grimsby Town a fortnight ago and clinched a 3-0 win in League Two, but that was followed by a horror-show last weekend when the Reds were thrashed 5-0 by Stockport County.
Crewe Alexandra are the visitors tomorrow and Parkinson said: “It is all about getting our performance level where it was against Grimsby.
“It had everything you wanted in a performance; clean sheet, good goals, real commitment and grit but quality in abundance as well.”
Wrexham suffered their heaviest defeat under Parkinson at Stockport and he knows the Reds must make amends against Crewe.
“You don’t become a bad team overnight but after a good performance, you haven’t suddenly cracked it either,” he said.
“To lose in the manner we did to our local rivals, of course it hurts.
“We have had plenty of good days, that was a bad day for us but we haven’t had too many days like that where it has been a really poor afternoon in so many areas.
“We have got to work towards a better performance at the weekend.”
Wrexham are seventh, five points behind leaders Notts County, but Parkinson knows sixth placed Crewe will be no pushovers.
“Crewe have had a great start to the season,” he added.
“It is going to be a really competitive game, we know we have got to be right at it from the first minute to the last.”
