Ipswich Town columnist Joey Sadler does not see why Kieran McKenna would join Brighton over remaining at the Blues.Ipswich Town are the only Premier League football club in East Anglia. That feels nice to say. I must also confess that proceedings at Elland Road last Thursday were equally as pleasing to witness. That said, Town are in a different league now (literally) and it’s time for us to get excited and prepare for what next season will look like for our football club.

22 years is a long time in any walk of life, but 22 years in football feels like an eternity. So much has changed since Town were last in the top flight. Technology introduced, new styles implemented, as well as a gigantic influx of cash pumped into the game.

We’re going to need to spend money, of course we are, but as we know with this ownership, not a single penny will be wasted on the wrong type of signing. I cannot wait to see what these next few months bring.

One man who obviously needs to stay is Kieran McKenna. Brighton have parted ways with Roberto De Zerbi and understandably now look towards McKenna to replace him. Why wouldn’t they? The Seagulls have had great success in recent years by appointing young, talented managers and I’d go as far as saying McKenna is the best one out there right now.
