West Ham United are still considering a summer transfer for Serhou Guirassy as Julen Lopetegui targets a new striker at the London Stadium, according to the Evening Standard.
The outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (21 May) that Tim Steidten is a long-time admirer of the Stuttgart forward and will be given more control over signings following David Moyes’ exit.
Lopetegui is expected to work alongside the Hammers’ technical director this summer and there is an acceptance that the pair must find a solution to their long-standing striker problem when the widow opens this summer.
Guirassy’s contract in Germany has a release clause of just £15million and Stuttgart have already begun to accept it will be difficult to keep hold of the 24-year-old this summer.
Will West Ham United and Julen Lopetegui try and sign Serhou Guirassy this summer?
West Ham simply have to sign a new number nine this summer as it is obvious that they cannot continue to only rely on the goals of Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio to help them succeed in the Premier League.
Bowen has enjoyed an excellent season in claret and blue and although he has shown that he is more than capable of playing as a centre-forward, he always seems to have a much greater impact on games when deployed on the right.
