Nottingham Forest are trying to establish themselves as a Premier League club both on and off the field.

The Reds have a supremely ambitious owner in Evangelos Marinakis and he won’t settle for simply making the number up.

He will want the football club to become a team that competes in the top half of the Premier League and competes for a European place.

Players will be added to Nuno Espirito Santo’s ranks in due course but it also seems as though things are happening away from the pitch.

Today’s reports have made some claims that Forest might well be looking to bolster their staff numbers and that can only bode well.

Nottingham Forest set to appoint Miran Pavlin

It would seem as though changes are afoot in the boardroom, with a new technical director set to be appointed.

Pavlin is a Slovenian who played for his country during his playing days, featuring at the World Cup in 2002.

Speaking to Delo, he said: “I got an offer from the owner of Nottingham Forest, Evangelos Marinakis, who also owns Olympiacos and Rio Ave.

“At 52 I didn’t think much. The Premier League is the best league in the world, I got the opportunity to work in a conglomerate of three clubs. This is a huge challenge for me.”

Pavlin is set to start work a week tomorrow and he will be in place as Forest look to sign a few more players before the season stars.
