Sunderland have had a flying start to the season with the Black Cats topping the table after eight games.

Regis Le Bris has quickly made his mark on Wearside, with his side looking like a completely different outfit to last season. Despite having a largely similar squad to last year, they look a side reinvented under new management.

Having lost talisman Jack Clarke towards the end of the window, there was a fear that their attack would not be the same but the goals have kept flowing.

Wilson Isidor is among those to have joined the club and now, he has spoken to the Sunderland Echo regarding his future.

The forward is on loan with Sunderland for now with an option to buy included, but Isidor is already clear on where he wants to be. He said:sunderland, New Sunderland loan favourite shares clear position over future transfer

“I am on loan but with an optional buy. But no, for me, I want to continue with Sunderland and write the club into my career and my history.”

Promising early signs

After making cameo appearances from the bench against Portsmouth, Plymouth Argyle and Middlesbrough, Isidor made his first start last weekend in the defeat to Watford.

In the defeat Isidor scored his first goal for the club, showing instincts of a centre-forward, something the club have missed since Ross Stewart left.

He impressed up-front once again in the 2-0 win over Derby County on Wednesday night. He was on the scoresheet once again, showing the signs of someone who can come in and become a much-needed talisman on Wearside.

Signed as a Clarke replacement?

Regis Le Bris has revealed that Isidor was in fact signed as a left-winger in his post-match interview.
