Newcastle: Magpies face a massive departure blow
This might be a devastating blow for Eddie Howe.
Newcastle United currently boasts a lot of vital players, but a fresh update suggests that they may be struggling to keep hold of one of them.

Who are the main players for Newcastle?

The Magpies have had a dramatic turnaround in fortunes in recent years, overcoming a time out of the Premier League to reclaim their place as one of the division’s best teams.
Newcastle have returned to the Champions League under Eddie Howe, thanks to greater transfer money under new owners, and while the season hasn’t been terrific so far, Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Brentford has helped to steady the ship.

There are a lot of significant players at St James’ Park right now, whether it’s Kieran Trippier and Sven Botman in defense, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali in the center of the park, or Alexander Isak leading the charge.

For Newcastle to continue on their upward trajectory, it is critical that they retain these players while also bringing in top-tier newcomers. A new report involving one Magpies player, though, may worry fans, with a possible move away on the cards.
Will Newcastle lose Alexander Isak?

According to a Spanish rumor [via TEAMtalk], Barcelona are considering a deal for Isak in the near future, seeing him as a long-term successor for Robert Lewandowski at the club.

The Swede is under contract with Newcastle until the summer of 2028, so they would almost certainly only accept a massive deal for him, but it remains to be seen if a move to the Camp Nou would change his mind.

Losing Isak would be a significant setback for the Magpies at any point in the near future, given how much of an effect he has made since joining from Real Sociedad last year. He has 12 goals in 31 games and would have had more if not for an injury.

At only 23 years old, the Newcastle striker has so many years ahead of him to polish his skills and become an even more fearsome player that losing him before that happens is unthinkable.
He should be viewed as the foundation of the Magpies’ team, as well as the spine of Botman, Bruno, and Tonali, having been praised by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, who has previously stated of him:

“Isak is an incredible player and a world star.” He can score goals and is really good on the ball. This guy can do it all. He’s a fantastic player. His interview reveals this.

The allure of playing for Barcelona is obvious, given their status as one of the greatest clubs in the world, so Newcastle may have to work hard to retain his services, demonstrating to him that staying put is best for his career as Newcastle improves over time.
