Fulham player claims leg break sounded like ‘pencil snapping’ – club refused to show him photographs.
Andreas Pereira of Fulham has described how an injury he suffered against Manchester City last year sounded like a pencil snapping and was so severe that doctors refused to show him photographs of it.

The midfielder has been speaking to Het Nieuwsblad in a series of diverse Q&As, including the worst pain he’s ever felt as a professional.

The 27-year-old has yet to have a truly catastrophic injury and will be hoping that continues, with his biggest injury layoff occurring early in his career, when an Achilles tendon ailment forced him to miss 42 days in 2017/18.

He’s been fortunate to escape major problems since then, with the exception of last season, when a fibula injury sustained against Manchester City resulted in him spending 29 days on the treatment table and missing six Fulham games.

Both of those payments were initially considered to be much greater after the confrontation with Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji appeared to be a nasty one, to put it mildly.
That was a major problem for the Fulham player, who claims the club’s personnel refused to show him photographs of it because of the concern.
“Of course, there are various forms of pain in life. “But the first thing that comes to mind is my broken fibula against Manchester City on April 30th of this year,” he remarked.

“I engaged in a duel with Mannel Akanji but felt I would lose the ball.” He smacked my head, knocking me off balance and causing me to land incorrectly. Have you ever heard the sound of a pencil snapping? That’s all.

“Strangely, the adrenaline made me feel almost nothing.” That’s why I assumed my ankle ligaments were sprained or something. They refused to show me the photographs. In retrospect, you know it’s not good.

“Should I then go to the hospital?” To be honest, we still had some time. I was skeptical because I didn’t feel any pain. I didn’t feel any pain until I got inside the ambulance. In any case, only somewhat. Until I heard the news
