Peter Reid reacts as Everton confirm death of chairman Bill Kenwright
Peter Reid has taken to social media to pay his tribute to Everton chairman Bill Kenwright after his death.
Replying to Everton’s official statement on X (24 October), the former Toffees midfielder paid his respects after Kenwright’s 34-year spell on the Toffees’ board.

Kenwright’s impact on the club was, of course, huge and Reid’s respect and tribute to the man is understandable.

The chairman led the Toffees to 12 top-eight finishes in the top division and qualified for European competitions six times, leaving a lasting legacy at Goodison Park.
Reid and Kenwright just missed each other at Everton, with Kenwright joining the board in October 1989 while Reid swapped Merseyside for Queens Park Rangers in January of the same year, but the Everton legend’s well-wishes remain.
Tributes have poured in for Kenwright from Premier League clubs, Goodison heroes and broadcasters alike, showing the huge impact he had on Everton and football. Kenwright was a lifelong Toffee and had been ill for a long period of time, having to remove a cancerous tumour eight weeks ago, per BBC Sport (24 October).
Everton has lost a staple of the club and a man who has helped forge their recent history and will undoubtedly be missed by those involved with the club.
