West HamUrgent West Ham United transfer news emerges with Tim Steidten busy

Urgent West Ham plans to sign a new striker have emerged with Tim Steidten already in action, according to Claret and Hugh.

The online outlet has reported that a replacement for Michail Antonio is now on the cards with a listed already being drawn up of potential new signing

With Mohammed Kudus and Said Benrahma going to the African Cup of Nations in January, a new attacker is now a top priority with imminent changes expected soon.

David Moyes will not be involved in the recruitment process with doubts about his future, with Steidten set to take centre-stage yet again, as he did in the summer.

One to watch.

Since the days of Paolo Di Canio, West Ham have struggled to have a star striker.

The Hammers have had great names like Carlos Tevez and Andy Carroll but apart from Antonio, no one has become a long-term proven goalscorer.

Tevez’s time at Upton Park will go down in history as he saved the club from relegation in 2007, however, he only lasted just one season at the club.

Carroll scored some great goals but struggled with injuries during his spell as a Hammer, and Antonio has even broken Di Canio’s West Ham Premier League goalscoring record.

However, he is now 33 and looks to be past his best.

Claret and High did not mention anyone who could be on Steidten’s list, but, given the technical director has also worked for Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen, we could expect a January arrival from the Bundesliga.

This is one to watch with only a couple of months to go.

In other West Ham news, Andy Gray and Richard Keys hit out at something “really poor” they saw in the loss at Brentford.
