Newcastle United transfer targets, according to Fabrizio Romano Adrien Rabiot will be dressed in a black and white shirt.
A look at the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Monday, November 6.
Adrien Rabiot talk shut down
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims Adrien Rabiot won’t be joining Newcastle United or Manchester United in January despite recent speculation. The French midfielder has been repeatedly linked with a move to St James’ Park since the takeover went through, but there’s been no official approach from the Magpies.
Rabiot is approaching the final few months of his contract, but Romano told the Daily Briefing: “Despite some speculation and his contract situation, my understanding is very clear that Adrien Rabiot is not leaving Juventus in January – it’s impossible.
“Juventus want to keep Rabiot and will offer him new contract for sure, at the moment there are no contacts with other clubs even if he’d like to play in Premier League one day. But for Juventus, he remains a crucial player.”
Record claim both Newcastle United and Everton made a push to sign then Coventry City striker Viktor Gyökeres in the summer but were beaten to the punch by Sporting. The report names the two Premier League clubs and goes into detail about the extent of their approach.
Coventry were said to be keen on getting as much money as they could for the Swedish striker this summer, with Newcastle willing to pay €20million plus €2m in add-ons. Everton are said to have offered €17million plus €3m in add-ons.
Nonetheless, Sporting boss Ruben Amorim’s efforts behind the scenes are said to have won the player over, with regular game time the deciding factor. The Portuguese side would splash a record€20m on Gyökeres, but that’s now seen as a bargain given his performances this season.
