Mesmerising’ midfielder yet to make decision on future after Newcastle considered move
Newcastle United cannot afford to stand still, particularly in the transfer market.

One of the major reasons as to why Newcastle have gone from relegation battlers to competing at such a level in such a short space of time is down to the recruitment.
With that in mind, when reports emerge about a target, they are certainly worth taking a note of.
Eberechi Eze has not yet decided on his future at Crystal Palace
Indeed, the Evening Standard claimed over the course of the summer that Newcastle had looked at the 25-year-old before opting to sign Sandro Tonali.
Recent reports have claimed that Palace plan to offer him a new contract but the Standard have provided an update.
They suggest the player is yet to make a decision on his long-term future, with Palace holding out for around £70m.
Newcastle would be wise to re-consider Eze
Hailed as “mesmerising” by Palace teammate Joel Ward, Eze is a signing with so many up sides.
Able to operate in a number of positions, Newcastle would be wise to consider keeping in the race to sign Eze.
At 25, he has a lot of his career ahead of him and could perhaps even play on the wing, as well as in central midfield.
Already this season, he’s averaging 2 key passes per game (via WhoScored), more than any of Newcastle’s current attackers and behind only Kieran Trippier’s average of 2.4.
That kind of ingenuity, particularly were Bruno Guimaraes to eventually leave, could prove invaluable.
If Eze doesn’t extend with Palace, Newcastle should be in the hunt.
