Emmanuel Dennis of Nottingham Forest has been passed up by Trabzonspor this summer. Now that several transfer windows are starting to close, it appears as though the Reds player will be in limbo.

According to Own Goal Nigeria, Trabzonspor made a bid to the player. They have since ended their conversations with Forest regarding Dennis, and it’s possible that the player will remain at City Ground.

This summer, Forest hoped to trade the striker who earns £40,000 per week. Steve Cooper has never really been a fan, and he only scored twice for the Reds in 2022–2023.

Dennis originally cost Forest £15 million when he left Watford. The talisman was acquired by the Reds from the Hornets after scoring 10 goals in his first Premier League season.

Trabzonspor have since shifted their attention elsewhere. Instead of Dennis, they signed Paul Onuachu from Southampton, and it is unclear what the 25-year-old’s future will contain.

Dennis skipped Forest’s senior ranks’ preseason workouts. He spent some time playing for the B-Team and made an appearance in their preseason games instead.

Dennis’ acquisition by Trabzonspor from Forest has been canceled.

The failure to reach an agreement will disappoint the Reds. Dennis was a player the club would have done anything to remove off the payroll, but it now appears that he will stay.

Dennis is unlikely to receive a pardon from Cooper anytime soon. The Reds now have three options in attack thanks to the transfer deadline day acquisition of Divock Origi.

Forest might have to put off selling Dennis until January. The Reds would presumably have better luck on that front at that point, although it might be difficult for the Nigerian after months of inactivity.
