Eddie Howe is reportedly expected to make two decisions that will absolutely delight Newcastle United fans against Manchester City tonight.

The Magpies face Man City in the Carabao Cup at St James’ Park, with fans encouraged to bring their scarves by co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Wor Flags.

It is set to be an exciting night on Tyneside, with Newcastle fans boasting renewed optimism following the 8-0 win against Sheffield United.

We will likely see a very different team to the one that started against the Blades, and a new report states that Eddie Howe is going to give two players their first ever starts for the club.

Hall and Livramento to start for Newcastle against Manchester City

According to iNews, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento are going to start for Newcastle against Manchester City tonight.

The summer signings have barely featured since joining the club. Livramento has made two appearances off the bench, while Hall made his debut on Sunday at Bramall Lane. He was brought on at 7-0, and changed the game to help Newcastle win by eight.

The exciting young duo are expected to get a chance in the Carabao Cup tonight, as fans finally get a proper opportunity to see what they are all about.

Newcastle are investing a lot of money in them, with both players tipped to have extremely bright futures on Tyneside. There is some pressure on them to eventually come good, as the Magpies dedicated a lot of their transfer budget to bringing them in this summer rather than prioritising the starting XI. Livramento cost an initial £32million, while Hall has arrived on loan but will cost £28million next summer.

No matter what happens tonight, fans must remember that they are players for the future of Newcastle, not specifically the present. And they are not the only youngsters who are set to feature against Manchester City.

The report from iNews adds that Elliot Anderson is expected to retain his place in the starting XI, while there is also a chance that Lewis Miley could feature. Hopefully we do see the 17-year-old in action, as he deserves some minutes following his outstanding form in pre-season.
