Amid a news-heavy day around the NBA on Tuesday, Senior NBA Insider Chris Haynes reported that the Portland Trail Blazers are open to trading Robert Williams III.
Williams, 26, was traded to Portland from the Boston Celtics before training camp in the Celtics’ deal for Jrue Holiday. He appeared in six games before undergoing season-ending right knee surgery, averaging 6.8 points and 6.3 rebounds on 65.4 percent from the field.
When Williams was ruled out for the remainder of the season in November, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski mentioned that the center was “a trade target for a number of teams.”
Portland had planned to keep Williams even with Deandre Ayton, but the 2022 All-Defensive center has drawn significant interest around the league.
