The Green Bay Packers saw their division rivals, the Detroit Lions, blow a 17-point lead in the NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers, the same team that knocked them out of the NFL Playoffs last week. After the game, Lions head coach Dan Campbell was reported to have told his team that this game may have been their only shot at getting to the Super Bowl. Who knows if they will ever be able to get back to the NFC Championship or be a Super Bowl contender again?
This question is one that Packers fans have been struggling with themselves since the Packers won Super Bowl XLV in January of 2011. At the time, it looked like the Packers had a dynasty on their hands, especially when they went 15-1 the next season.
However, despite making it to numerous NFC Championship games in the years since winning the Super Bowl, Aaron Rodgers’ Packers never returned to the Big Game. In that time, many noteworthy stars played for Green Bay, some signing with the team in hopes of winning that elusive ring to cap off their careers.
