CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Guardians and Diamond Sports Group were still negotiating over their Regional Sports Network TV deal ahead of Thursday’s deadline imposed by Diamond.
On Jan. 17 Diamond, branded by Bally Sports, announced that it was emerging from bankruptcy with an infusion of capital from streaming giant Amazon and a settlement of a lawsuit with Sinclair Broadcasting, their parent company. Before that announcement Diamond had reached tentative deals with nine of the 11 MLB teams it has under contrtact to televise their games on Regional Sports Networks.
