New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka has made his mark in two years with the franchise.
In his first season in 2022, the Giants improved from 31st to 15th in scoring offense and made the playoffs. While New York took a substantial step back in 2023, it dealt with several key injuries and still managed to squeeze six solid starts out of undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito.
Recognizing this, the Giants are reportedly working to make sure Kafka stays in the Big Apple in 2024.
New York has blocked Kafka from interviewing for the Seattle Seahawks’ vacant offensive coordinator job, according to a Saturday evening report from Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports./cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/73110153/1414351303.0.jpg)
Kafka, a former Northwestern and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, worked under coach Andy Reid with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2017-21. He was the Chiefs’ quarterbacks coach in 2018 when quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named MVP for the first time.
The Seahawks are searching for an offensive coordinator to work under new coach Mike Macdonald, who they hired away from the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday.
