C.J. Stroud wasn’t the first pick of the NFL Draft. But he might be the No. 1 rookie quarterback of all time.

Stroud had a great season with the Houston Texans, breaking many records.

He won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award Thursday night at the NFL’s annual Honors, the league’s annual awards gala.

“I’ve had a lot of support over the years to make this dream a reality,”

Stroud said after winning the award.

Stroud had a great season, beating out Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, who set a rookie record in the same season.

Stroud was No. 2 in the game and dominated from start to finish, leading the Texans to a rout of the Cleveland Browns in the playoffs.

Stroud received 48 of 50 first-place votes and two second-place votes. Nacua received two first-place votes and 48 second-place votes.

Stroud is one of the Texans’ top prospects, joining Will Anderson Jr.

“It says a lot about the type of people in this house,”

Anderson said of him and Stroud winning Rookie of the Year honors.

C.J. Stroud was named the 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year by The Associated Press during NFL Honors Thursday night.

The No. 2 pick became the first Texas player in franchise history to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

When asked about other quarterbacks in the league, Stroud said that he respects Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Tua Tagovailoa.

He also said that he grew up watching Joe Burrow and Mike Vick.

Stroud said that his favorite memory from his rookie season was winning the playoff game against the Cleveland Browns.
