Leeds United must pay a £1 million “solidarity” fee to a top-flight team following an agreement – Journalist,
Despite the transfer window shutting over a week ago, it looked as though Leeds would still be busy in agreeing an outgoing transfer in February.
Luis Sinisterra was the player in question with those talks, having joined Bournemouth on loan for the season, but with a view of a long-term deal too.
It was revealed by multiple outlets on Thursday that Sinisterra’s stay at the Vitality Stadium would be extended beyond this season, via a permanent deal.
The fee that Leeds are going to bring in stands at £20million, the same as they paid Feyenoord to sign him in 2022, with Fabrizio Romano sharing that all the necessary documents have been signed to see the deal come to fruition:
As Romano shares, an announcement on Sinisterra could come today with all the formalities out of the way for both clubs.
5% clause emerges for Sinisterra and Leeds
Now, journalist Pipe Sierra has reported that Bournemouth’s agreement with Leeds to the tune of £1million is huge news for the winger’s former club in Colombia, Once Caldas.
He shares that 5% of the fee is going to the Categoría Primera A side, the team where Sinisterra made his senior debut back in 2016, before leaving for Feyenoord in 2018:
It was always going to be the case that there’d be sell-on clauses in Sinisterra’s contract, given that we signed him essentially as a Raphinha replacement.
He was thought to be someone who could take us forward in the Premier League, unfortunately injuries stopped that from happening here.
We’ve essentially got a refund for him in this deal, and that should be a nice boost for the books under the 49ers.
