Phil Hay has reacted to a statement by Leeds United confirming that Luis Sinisterra has joined Bournemouth on a permanent deal.

The Whites tweeted on Friday (9 February) that the Colombian international has completed his move to the Cherries after spending the first half of the season on loan with the Premier League side.

After there was no message of thanks from the club to the 24-year-old winger, the Athletic journalist responded to the tweet by saying “not many words speaks a thousand words”.

Broken relationship between Luis Sinisterra and Leeds United

It’s quite telling that Leeds decided not to post any message of thanks to Sinisterra or note what he did during his time at the club since making the move from Feyenoord in 2022.

That is probably largely down to him refusing to play for the club last summer when he was intent on making a move away from Elland Road following the relegation to the Championship.

That caused plenty of hurt amongst the Whites fans and clearly people inside the club as there is no excuse for a player downing tools, even if they’re unhappy with their situation.

It was pretty clear that the winger was never going to play for Daniel Farke’s side again after that incident and then making the move to Bournemouth.

Although this latest development now provides clarity on this situation, he will not be remembered fondly for what he did in West Yorkshire last summer.
