Michail Antonio has claimed Neal Maupay’s trolling could one day come back bite him after the forward recently clashed with with James Maddison and Kyle Walker.

Maupay first caused controversy when he butted heads with the Tottenham midfielder after copying his darts celebration during Brentford’s 3-2 defeat by Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The Frenchman was also embroiled in a heated spat with Kyle Walker during their game against Man City on Monday night, with a lip reader claiming Maupay had ‘whispered taunts about his opponent’s children’. Walker had allegedly responded by threatening to ‘knock his opponent out’.

While many have offered their opinions on Maupay’s antics, with the Bees forward now being coined one of the ‘biggest wind-up merchants in football’, Antonio has given his take on the recent antics, claiming Maupay has gained a reputation for irritating his opponents.

‘He’s probably the most disliked person on the field,’ the West Ham forward said on BBC 5 Live Sport’s podcast ‘The Players Channel’.
