West HamRichard Keys has suggested David Moyes could quit West Ham as he has never been made to feel welcome by supporters.

Moyes confirmed in December that he had held informal talks with regards to his future at London Stadium beyond this season.

However, the Scotsman is now into the final four months of his existing deal and things have gone quiet with regards to fresh terms being discussed.

Speaking on beIN SPORTS ahead of West Ham’s heavy loss to Arsenal on Sunday (11 February), as shared on Twitter, Keys said: “There’s still no news of a new deal for David Moyes.

“I don’t understand why that’s the case. Maybe neither party wants the relationship to continue.

“I don’t think he’s unhappy as such, but he’s never been made to feel like a Hammer, even after the success he’s had.West Ham

“People from our generation are used to seeing West Ham in the second division, but he’s got them in the top eight, top six and winning trophies. They’ve never had anything like it in their recent history.

Co-host Andy Gray added: “I’ve no idea why they’re unhappy with Moyesey.”

David Moyes contract situation latest

The whole ‘will he or won’t he’ debate regarding Moyes’ contract situation has dragged on for long enough now.

There were strong suggestions in late December that a new contract had been agreed and it was just a case of making it official.West Ham

That came around the time that the Irons defeated Manchester United and Arsenal in back-to-back matches.

Since then, however, results have tailed off alarmingly. The crushing loss to Arsenal makes it seven games without a victory.

If the club was to announce a new deal for Moyes on the back of the Arsenal performance, you know exactly what the reaction would be.

West Ham United’s heavy loss to Arsenal at London Stadium will not help David Moyes’ cause.

There is clearly a divide with regards to those who think Moyes deserves to stay on and those who feel it is the right time to depart.

What is certain is that supporters will forever be grateful for what Moyes has done for the club, most notably winning the Europa Conference League.

On the basis of performances in 2024, a parting of the ways is now looking more favourable than extending this relationship further.
