EvertonEverton are still unlikely to find out if the Premier League will approve the 777 Partners takeover until the end of the month, according to Alan Myers.

Toffees supporters were left angered on Tuesday (13 February) as Sir Jim Ratcliffe was granted approval to buy a 25-per-cent stake in Manchester United.

Everton have been made to wait for far longer for ratification from league chiefs, but Myers explained via his personal Twitter page [13 February] that the cases are not the same.

“Two very different situations mate, ones a full takeover, the other is a minority stake, two very different financial models,” he said.

“Jim Ratcliffe’s has been going on a good while too, not just since he agreed, so much more to EFC’s, I know it’s frustrating.”

Asked when Everton will hear whether 777 has been granted approval to complete a takeover, Myers said: “I’m told towards the end of the month but the reality is, as with most, it’s just the information I’m given, to say I know for sure would be a lie.”Everton

Everton takeover wait goes on

The Toffees could really do with the Premier League making a decision one way or another.

For a club that has been charged with financial breaches twice in the past four months, it is comical the Premier League is taking so long over this, thus delaying a chance to get things back on track.

Why is it that a hard deadline cannot be fixed? Everton are in limbo right now and that is not fair.

The longer this whole process drags out, the more risk there is of Everton being left in almighty trouble should it eventually fall through.

Ensuring 777 Partners can fund the club is fair enough, but the Toffees just need a decision to be made now one way or another.

The way things are going, considering it was supposed to be wrapped up by the New Year, do not be surprised if we enter March before a decision is made.
