Exaspiration in camp of leeds as a results of contract terms given to their manager Daniel Farke for new offer…Daniel Farke facing tough job as player unrest overshadows Leeds United's start to season

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is in line to be offered a new contract if the club win promotion this season, sources have told Football Insider.

The 47-year-old could extend his stay at Elland Road, and land a “big” pay rise, despite already having more than three years left to run on his current deal.

Farke has led his Leeds side to seven straight wins in the Championship and have recently moved into second place in the table – a big development in the race for promotion against Southampton and Ipswich Town.

Leeds have won 20 of their 32 Championship games so far this term and are on course to match Reading’s 106-point record this term – with first-place Leicester on course to better it.

Farke has extracted the best from top scorer Crysencio Summerville (16 goals, nine assists) and the returning Dan James (10 goals, seven assists).

The Whites’ strong form comes despite the loss of no less than 20 first-team players in the transfer market this term.

Leeds have played one more game than third-place Southampton, who saw their 22-game unbeaten run ended by Bristol City on Tuesday (13 February).Daniel Farke facing tough job as player unrest overshadows Leeds United's start to season

The Saints have the opportunity to move back ahead of Farke’s side with a win over West Brom on Friday (16 February).
