Leeds United will have a few contenders for their Player of the Season award when May rolls around.
The Whites are among a group of teams currently performing at a level that has never been seen before at this level, having accumulated an impressive 66 points from 32 matches.
Daniel Farke’s side are actually 10 clear of the total they amassed during the title winning campaign under Marcelo Bielsa in 2019/20, with much of that down to the quality in the squad.
Crysencio Summerville, Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon and Georginio Rutter all have genuine shouts as to who has been Leeds’ best player this season, but there is one that Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison thinks stands out.
That is Summerville. Speaking on Sky Sports earlier this week, Morrison believes the 22-year-old will be playing Premier League football next season no matter what as a result of his performances.
Morrison hails Summerville as Leeds’ POTS
He said: “This young man has been their best player, Summerville. He is the one who can go and play in the Premier League, without a shadow of a doubt.”
It was said by some pundits that Leeds would even struggle to keep hold of Summerville in the January window, but thankfully he is still here and firing on all cylinders.
