Buendia sustained his ACL injury a few days before Mings during training ahead of the first game of the Premier League season. Both players have made strong progress in their rehabilitation and Emery is hopeful they could return to training before the end of the campaign, but doesn’t expect either to be available to play.

“I think all the season they are going to be out, but hopefully they can train at the end of the season. Then starting next season being fine to come back like before.”Aston Villa's Tyrone Mings making strong progress after ACL injury - Birmingham Live

Villa have had terrible luck with injuries this season and lost Ezri Konsa, Boubacar Kamara and Diego Carlos through injury in the last two weeks. All three, plus Jhon Duran, Mings and Buendia will not feature for Villa against Fulham on Saturday.
