David Moyes outlines when the decision on West Ham’s future will be made following widespread calls for his dismissal, and promises that it will…

David Moyes believes it will become clear whether the time is right to leave West Ham at the end of the season as he contemplates following Jurgen Klopp’s lead in walking away from his job this summer.

However, the 60-year-old says he wants to wait to see how the rest of the season plays out before taking stock and making a decision over his future in the summer.

The Scot’s stance will do little to ease the uncertainty around the club, with last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest extending their winless run to eight matches and prompting some supporters to display a ‘Moyes Out’ banner in the away end.

As recently as the start of the month, Moyes had suggested he was intending to stay on at the club and asked whether fan grievances had made him reconsider, the  60-year-old said: “There will always be times at football clubs where you think you might need a change.

“At the moment West Ham have probably been in one of the best places they have been for a long time. I don’t want to keep saying it because it sounds like I’m having to defend it but the facts are there.

”There is a level where West Ham can go and we need to find out where that is. But a manager’s job is to raise expectations – and I think that’s what we’ve done.”

There will be at least one high-profile vacancy in the Premier League this summer, with Klopp set to call time on his illustrious spell at Anfield.

The German has cited dwindling energy reserves as a major factor in his decision and is expected to take a prolonged break from management when the season ends, with Moyes not ruling out an exit on similar grounds.
