West Ham United boss David Moyes’ future is under scrutiny, and Will Still of Stade Reims has emerged as a potential candidate to replace him.

The Irons boss has done a good job over the years. After back-to-back top-seven finishes, he led them to European glory last season, but some fans are calling for his job after a winless start to 2024. Still’s club in France seem open to letting him go to West Ham if the opportunity arises.

Reims director says he’d be ‘proud’ if Will Still becomes West Ham manager

David Moyes‘ contract as West Ham United manager expires at the end of this season.

The Scot deserves immense praise for all the work he has done at the London Stadium over the years, but a decision has to be made by both parties about what’s next. It has been claimed that some players have complained about the Scot’s style of play.

If West Ham decide to part ways with Moyes, they will need to recruit a good replacement to bring the excitement back among the fans.

Stade Reims boss Will Still has openly admitted that he is a West Ham supporter, and in a recent interview with The Athletic, he claimed that he is open to managing a club in the Premier League.

That caused a bit of drama in France, but Stade Reims director Mathieu Lacour has now jumped to Still’s defence and claimed that he would actually be proud if his manager left them to take over the West Ham job.

He said in a press conference, as relayed by Foot Mercato: “There are no problems within the club. As usual with Will, we spoke in a frank and honest manner, and we have always had a healthy relationship. Not a day goes by without us talking.

“Regarding what is said in the article, we are a stepping stone club for young players and for managers. We would be very proud if Will were to manage in the Premier League at a team like his favourite, West Ham, for example.

“There’s no shame in showing your ambitions, and the manager can do that, but make no mistake bout it: our story at Stade de Reims is by no means over. We’re looking ahead and not just to the end of the season, but also in the medium term. We both don’t want the story to end.”
