West HamFrank McAvennie wants Kalvin Phillips to leave West Ham right away and return to Manchester City despite just joining.

The Hammers signed the England international on loan in the January window on loan until the end of the season.

Having shone at Leeds United, the central midfielder has struggled to live up to the high standards at the Etihad Stadium under Pep Guardiola.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, McAvennie, the former Hammers striker said:

“I would send him back. He’s done nothing.

Zouma gave him an awful pass and he’s been an absolute shocker since then. To be fair, the guy’s not played and now he’s making excuses.West Ham

I thought he was great when he played for Leeds. He’s played for England.

He hasn’t improved in anything for me. I think he was the right kind of player needed but then you think he’s not really done anything. The harder he tries, the worse it’s getting for him it seems.

Phillips needs to take his game to the next level for West Ham United

If Phillips is serious about making the England EUROs squad, he’s got to be doing more than what he is.

He even got sent off for the Hammers and all this will not be helping David Moyes, who’s already facing a battle for his future.

Kalvin Phillips has struggled since joining West Ham United on loan from Manchester City.

Hopefully, things can be turned around for the midfielder at the London Stadium and he manages to showcase the form he showed at Leeds.
