Pundit Tim Sherwood is desperate for Leeds United to get back in the Premier League. The Whites resume their Championship promotion campaign tomorrow when they face Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town.

Things are hotting up at the top of the table, with United currently occupying the final automatic promotion berth. They are second in the standings after accumulating 72 points, only six adrift of leaders Leicester City.

However, third-placed Ipswich Town remain hot on the Whites’ heels. They are only below Daniel Farke’s team on goal difference. Southampton have slipped to fourth, five points off the automatic promotion slots following a poor run of form.

When asked about United and Ipswich, Sherwood told talkSPORT: “Both very well supported. But Leeds, it’s one of my favourite grounds to go to. I always enjoyed playing there.”

The former Tottenham boss is confident the Whites will hold their nerve and edge out Ipswich in the fight to go up. “I just think Leeds, I really do,” he said. “I want them back. I want them back in the Premier League. I have got nothing against Ipswich. Kieran McKenna has done a wonderful job, but if I had to choose one, then Elland Road. I want that back.”
