Gary O’Neil has now been instructed to recruit one Premier League striker during the summer transfer window.Who has scored seven goals in nine games…Luton Town v Sheffield United - Premier League

In January, Wolves made numerous attempts to sign a striker but were unsuccessful as Gary O’Neil was made to settle with what he already had.

That hasn’t proven to be the worst outcome with the Molineux side now pushing for a spot in Europe following four wins in their last five matches, including a 1-0 victory over Brighton to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals.

O’Neil’s side achieved that win without star striker Matheus Cunha, who is making encouraging progress following a ‘significant’ hamstring injury with the Brazilian now back on grass.Luton Town v Sheffield United - Premier League

Sadly, fellow forward Hwang Hee-Chan suffered an injury against the Seagulls and has not been the same player since returning from Asia Cup duty with South Korea.

It is clear that Wolves need to target a new striker in the summer transfer window, and journalist Liam Keen thinks the club would be ‘smart’ to go for Luton Town’s Elijah Adebayo.
