The crowd at Fratton Park will be critical to success.Former Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp believes Pompey can win the League One title this season.
Redknapp had two spells managing the south coast club, from 2002 to 2004 and then from 2005 to 2008, with a controversial move to rivals Southampton sandwiched between the two stints.
Pompey are currently riding high at the top of League One, with a six-point advantage over second-placed Bolton Wanderers.
ohn Mousinho’s side have 10 games remaining in the league, over which they will be hoping that they can regain their place in the Championship after a 12-year absence.
Redknapp predicts Pompey promotion
The ex-boss has had his fair share of success at Fratton Park, leading the club to promotion and delivering the famous FA Cup triumph in 2008.
The 77-year-old has been weighing up his former club’s chances of finally climbing back into the second tier, and potentially clinching silverware in the process.
“Portsmouth have had a fantastic season so far. I think they can hold out for that promotion place, or even win the League One title, I really do,” Redknapp said via BetVictor.
“The crowd they have down at Fratton Park is worth a goal head-start each home game alone!”
