Leeds United are one of the few clubs looking to sign Genk left-back Archie Brown this summer, who is making a name for himself in Belgium this season.
Daniel Farke will be hoping that his side are playing in the Premier League this season, and the new recruitment structure above him will have contingencies in place for just that eventuality.
Signings aren’t the priority right now, but Jordan Miles and his scouting department will be keeping tabs on those across Europe that could strengthen very clear shortcomings in 2024.
HITC reported this week that Leeds are one of a handful of sides that want to sign 21-year-old left-back Archie Brown.
The youngster is currently playing at Genk having left Derby County’s youth side for Belgium in 2021, moving from Lausanne at the start of this season to join one of the nation’s best sides in Genk.
A versatile defender, Brown has impressed scouts from the UK, with three Premier League clubs named in the report too as Chelsea, Fulham, and Brentford are also looking to sign him.
Leeds could have readymade signing in Brown for the summer
This scenario where Leeds manage to be in the running for Brown is one where the Whites are in the Premier League next season.
So with that in mind, it looks like a very good signing for the club to be looking at, given his physical presence as a left-back, something that Leeds need to focus on a lot more than they did last time they went up – signing a number of players not physically robust enough for the Premier League, whether that be aggression or injury-wise.
