Hull City made it seven games unbeaten with a gripping 2-2 draw against league leaders Leicester City in front of a capacity crowd on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers twice led through Fabio Carvalho and Anass Zaroury but Jamie Vardy twice fired back shortly after City had found the back of the net to lift the roof off the MKM Stadium.

Carvalho, on loan from Liverpool, also saw an early penalty saved by Foxes goalkeeper Mads Hermansen in a pulsating Championship contest, but the Tigers can be heartened by the quality of their display as the run-in takes hold.

Here, Tigers reporter Barry Cooper reflects on a game to remember on a bracing East Yorkshire afternoon….

City were good value for their point, and on another day, could have taken all three. The frustration for Rosenior will be that, having gone in front twice, his side couldn’t hold onto their lead for any length of time. Admittedly, the penalty was harsh, but he will be unhappy with the manner of Vardy’s second goal and the ease with which it was crafted and finished.

Keep it tight for a few minutes and build from there. Unfortunately, as we know in football, you’re at your weakest when you’ve just scored a goal, and so it proved, Vardy’s quality punished them in style.
