Speaking to the Official Leeds United podcast Anthony said: “Obviously Arsenal is a massive club and they had some of the best facilities, best coaches and it was the perfect place for me to grow. I had a lot of staff that I could lean on and players in my age group that have made it to the top level as well.
“It’s funny I was speaking to Ethan Ampadu and his dad was one of my favourite coaches when I was at Arsenal. He actually helped me a lot when I got released in getting me a few trials and stuff.
“It’s crazy that the world works in full circle and now I’m working with him.”
Georginio Rutter had ‘big weight on shoulders’ but can guide Leeds United back to Premier League
Leeds United striker Georginio Rutter had a big weight on his shoulders to keep the Whites in the Premier League but can help guide his side back to the top tier. That’s according to talkSPORT’s Adrian Durham who has heaped praise on the Frenchman for his performances in recent weeks.
It was a slow start to life at Elland Road for the £36million signing, who struggled to adapt to the Premier League with zero goals in 13 appearances. However, under Daniel Farke, the 21-year-old has found a new lease of life and is starting to show his best form.
“If you’re judging him on last season that’s quite harsh,” Durham said. “He didn’t do the job last season but he’s 21 with a big weight on his shoulders to keep a massive club in the Premier League and it didn’t happen.”
Michael Skubala highlights area of improvement for Leeds United duo Kris Moore and Sean McGurk
Leeds United Under-21s boss Michael Skubala has laid down the mantle for Kris Moore and Sean McGurk after an impressive start to the Premier League 2 campaign with the Whites.
Skubala told Leeds United – The Views: “I think he’s a really good leader so we’re challenging him on being a top leader so he’s growing into that role. He’s a Leeds through and through academy boy so we’re really proud with how and really proud with how he’s come through.
“He’s obviously more natural to a centre-half position. I’ve moved him to right-back as part of his development again. Most young players of this age when they go on loan or go onto the first-team they don’t actually debut in their favoured position
Leeds United ‘means a lot’ to Robin Koch with decision to leave ‘not an easy one’
Leeds United defender Robin Koch says the decision to leave Elland Road this summer was a difficult decision and his three years at the club have developed him as a footballer. The versatile German defender was one of a number of players to leave the Whites on loan following their relegation from the Premier League.
“It has always been a dream for me to play in the Premier League and experience English football there – and I have fulfilled this dream,” Koch told Sports Illustrated Deutschland. “In my three years at Leeds, I have felt very comfortable so far and have developed further as a footballer and as a person.
“The club really means a lot to me. But it was time for me to make another change in terms of sport.”
