Champions and automatic promotion remain wide open in the Championship as the runaway top four bear down on their final nine games of the season. After this weekend’s results, Leicester City now lead the way by three points from Leeds United, who are ahead of Ipswich Town by one point.
The Whites hold a 15-goal advantage over Kieran McKenna’s side, while Southampton are another five points back, though they do n ow have a game in hand on the top three. It promises to be a fascinating run-in between now and May 4.
You can now use our predictor to plot the remaining results this season to see who will come out on top and who will join them in the Premier League next season. As far as the Whites are concerned, their remaining top-half opponents are Southampton (h), Hull City (h), Coventry City (a), Sunderland (h) and Middlesbrough (a).
United will back themselves against anyone at home, while Watford have been atrocious at home of late, though Coventry is arguably the toughest away trip left in April. Leicester have Southampton (h), Norwich City (h), West Bromwich Albion (h) and Preston North End (a) still to go in the top half.
Ipswich Town have Southampton (h), Norwich (a), Middlesbrough (h), Coventry (a) and Hull (a) in the remaining top-half sides. Meanwhile, the Saints have to take on Middlesbrough (h), Preston (h), Leicester (a), Ipswich (a), Coventry (h), Cardiff City (a) and Leeds (a) in by far the hardest run of the quartet.
Have a go below and see what you come out with. You can see what I ended up with above. It’s going to get tighter between the top two, but Leicester could already have too many points on the board.
