Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has revealed that he is looking forward to having Leeds United loanee Jaidon Anthony back at the club next season.Leeds United

This seemingly dispels any chance of a permanent move to Elland Road for the on-loan winger, although it appears there was little chance of that happening.

It had previously been shared that, given there is no option to buy in the loan deal, Anthony was always expected to return to the Vitality after his spell in Leeds.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Echo [12 March], Iraola shared: “Yes, I have always said it. Jaidon, I like him as a player and I rate him a lot as a person. He was very involved with us in the first game of the season in August.

“I think he is a very good player to have in the squad because he’s valuable in different positions and is very reliable. When you play Jaidon, I think you know he will give the maximum always, because his work-rate is very good.”

After Luis Sinisterra sealed a permanent transfer to the South Coast earlier this year, talk about what that would mean for Anthony began, with the winger having originally joined Leeds as part of the loan-swap deal with the Cherries.

Paul Robinson told MOT Leeds News that he expected Anthony to make the permanent switch to Elland Road as a result of Sinisterra’s move, but reports since then have squashed any suggestion of a stay beyond this summer.

Since arriving at Leeds in the summer, the winger has made 24 league appearances under Farke, scoring just one goal and failing to provide a single assist in what have proved to be fairly uninspiring numbers.

The poor ratio can be explained by the fact that, of those 24 league appearances, just two have come from the start, and he averages just 19 minutes per game this season [Sofascore] – hardly enough time to truly make his mark on the first-team.
