Everton attacker Dele Alli is unlikely to play again this season, despite Sean Dyche’s recent comments, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
Dyche said at the end of February that he was working on staying fit while a report stated that there was “progress” was on the cards.
However, the injury expert does not gauge this as a sign of an imminent return being likely for the 27-year-old.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Alli:
“Based on what Dyche said and recent reports, progress here could simply be that he’s responding well to physio, however low or high intensity that might be.
“Considering how long he’s been out and how conservative the club have been for him, I would be very, very surprised if he returns this season.
“It is a complicated scenario and his lack of match fitness has not been ideal either.”
Everton must take their time with Alli’s injury
The Englishman is only 27 and it makes no sense to rush him back into action as it could have long-term consequences.
The last few years have already been extremely difficult for him and this would complicate matters even further.
He’s had to undergo surgery and has also faced setbacks in his rehabilitation so they’ve got to be extremely careful with how they handle his return.
The chances of him featuring again for the Toffees appear to be extremely slim, as things stand.
