Man Utd scout EFL wonderkid tipped to have 'wonderful future' but face  Newcastle competitionNewcastle United have been linked with a potential summer swoop for Sunderland starlet Chris Rigg.

Newcastle United have once again been linked with Sunderland sensation Rigg.

It’s been reported that Newcastle United scouted Rigg in action against QPR in the Championship on Saturday, as Sunderland played out a 0-0 draw.

The 16-year-old Hebburn-born midfielder has now made 13 appearances in the Championship this season, with one goal to his name.

In less than 10 years he’s gone from starting out in the academy to starting for the first-team, making his first-team debut under Tony Mowbray last season.

Who is interested in Chris Rigg at Sunderland

Newcastle United have been linked with Rigg on and off for the past year or so, with senior scout Mick Tait said to have watched Rigg in action against QPR.
