With Leeds United top of the Championship heading into the final stages of the season, it is hard to criticise anything the club did in the transfer market last summer.
Of course, fans were furious with how many players were able to leave on loan. But that seems to have largely been down to mistakes previously made.
Many of the signings have been overwhelming successes. Fans are desperate to see Joe Rodon sign permanently. And the Welshman was one of seven players not at Elland Road last season to feature in the win over Millwall before the break.
Interestingly, Leeds have a number of former transfer targets to face before the campaign concludes. And that run starts on Friday night when Daniel Farke‘s men travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford.
It has been a pretty miserable season for the Hornets. They have won just two of their last 13 games in all competitions. Their 1-0 win over Birmingham City put them nine points clear of the relegation zone in the Championship. But they will feel better about their status in the second tier if they can quickly secure a few more points.
Hopefully however, they get nothing from Friday’s clash.
Leeds so far vindicated after not signing Emmanuel Dennis last summer
The player who scored the only goal in their win over Birmingham City was Emmanuel Dennis, who is in his second spell with Watford.
