Everton should just be fined and given a stern warning for their financial fair play breaches, according to former Toffees scout Bryan King.
The verdict comes after it emerged that the Merseyside outfit are likely to be docked four points for their second charge.
The Toffees have been deducted six points this season, with the initial 10-point sanction reduced following an appeal.
Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “Can you imagine if Everton were chasing the Champions League now? And had already had a 10-point deduction, have had four points back, and now they could lose another four.
“Don’t worry about the fair play, think of the money that is at stake here, the money that they are going to lose. This could cost Everton a lot of money. Why not just fine them, slap them across the wrists, and get on with it?”
How will the Everton roller-coaster season end?
The Toffees have been involved in a whirlwind season for various reasons, both on and off the Goodison Park pitch.
The Merseyside outfit have had to deal with an ongoing takeover, a new stadium build, and of course their financial issues.
