Fabrizio Romano has seemingly taken a bit of a pop shot at Nottingham Forest over Andrey Santos. The Chelsea loan star was left on the bench by the Reds once again yesterday.
The talented youngster signed for Forest during the summer transfer window. He was allowed to leave Stamford Bridge despite being highly rated by boss Mauricio Pochettino.
As of yet, the player hasn’t featured for Forest in the Premier League. He did start the clash against Burnley in the Carabao Cup but Steve Cooper has been reluctant to unleash him in the league yet.
The Reds have come in for some backhanded criticism from transfer guru Romano. He appeared to Tweet a random message about Santos after he didn’t make it onto the pitch again.
It just seemed somewhat strange timing. The Reds had just come from a goal behind with 10 men to earn a share of the spoils against Brentford but Romano mentioned a player who wasn’t on the pitch.
Forest will utilise Santos and he will get game time. For now, however, he will have to be patient whilst Steve Cooper tries to establish where he sees him fitting into his plans
The season is still young and Santos should feature for Forest at some point during 2023/24. There are still lots of games left to play and hopefully, he can make an impact.
Chelsea loan several players out each summer. It’s never been of any concern to Romano in the past and it does seem strange that now he appears to be doing some PR for the Blues
