Following an interview in which Richarlison confessed his struggles with mental health, the Brazilian has sent a new message to Everton and the supporters at Goodison Park.
Richarlison conducted an interview with ESPN in which he revealed struggling in the wake of the 2022 World Cup and detailed how seeking help through therapy benefited him.
The official club X account extended their support to their former player after the “incredibly moving” interview, urging any struggling fans to reach out for help if necessary.
In reply to their heartfelt message [via X], the Brazilian shared: “Thanks for always being there for me. Lots of love for all Evertonians.”
Richarlison and Everton have maintained their strong relationship
The connection between the players, the club and the fans is always spoken about within football, and at times feels like it’s drifting further from the tight-knit groups formed in the past, but Richarlison’s relationships at Everton have remained strong.
Despite the frustration of the clash with Spurs earlier this season, which saw him find the net twice and ultimately deny Everton all three points from the clash, the Brazilian refused to celebrate and proved once again why he is so loved and so missed on the blue side of Merseyside.
This was followed by an Instagram post which Richarlison shared with a young supporter after the game alongside images with the same fan from over the years in a touching message from the former player, as Abdoulaye Doucoure dubbed him a “legend”.
