Kalvin Phillips makes a mockery of a sorry situation that has developed regarding Vladimir Coufal at West Ham.
When West Ham signed Kalvin Phillips on loan from Man City many felt he was a player the club didn’t need.
If there was one area of the pitch West Ham were well stocked it was central midfield.
Reports claimed David Moyes was the one who pushed to sign Phillips. And it was claimed the move was against the wishes of some of the West Ham hierarchy.
It’s fair to say the move has not worked out thus far with things going from bad to worse for Phillips with every passing week.
A problem all of West Ham’s own making
His time with the Hammers hit a new low this week after he was officially named the lowest ranked midfielder in the Premier League.
As part of the loan agreement with Man City, West Ham are picking up Phillips’ £150k per week wages. That makes him the club’s joint-highest earner alongside Lucas Paqueta.
And Phillips makes a mockery of the sorry Vladimir Coufal situation at West Ham.
