However, Sean Dyche would not have cared, and despite it extending their winless run, one point is surely better than none.
He could not have possibly foreseen the calamity which was just about to occur though, with a hopeful cross from the hosts inexplicably ending up in the back of the Toffees net, courtesy of Seamus Coleman.
Head in his hands, the Republic of Ireland international was left dismayed at such a torrid ending to his return to the side following injury.
