Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to part ways with defender Joe Rodon this summer, with recent rumours indicating that the club has instructed the Welsh centre-back to seek a new club as he does not feature in their plans.
Rodon, who has enjoyed a successful loan spell at Leeds United this season, and has expressed his desire to continue playing at Elland Road.
The latest developments align with his wish to remain at Leeds beyond the current season.
Pete O’Rourke suggests several players will leave including Joe Rodon
According to transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Rodon is expected to make a permanent move to Leeds United next season.
O’Rourke said (via Football Insider):
“Joe Rodon has done really well at Leeds United and I’m sure he will now move on in a permanent deal if they go up.
“Spurs are going to be busy in the transfer window, but they’re going to have to balance the books as well and that means players leaving.”
Tottenham’s defensive line-up has been bolstered by the arrival of Micky van de Van from Wolfsburg last summer for a significant €40 million fee, exceeding expectations with his performances.
Additionally, the signing of Radu Dragusin in January has further strengthens Spurs’ defensive options.
Given the influx of defensive talent and the need to balance the books, Spurs are keen on offloading Rodon this summer, specially considering that his contract is set to expire next year in May.
