Liverpool will try and tempt Juventus into selling teenage defender Dean Huijsen this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Merseyside outfit currently have Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate as the regular central defenders. The club also have the likes of Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah, but are still looking for a young centre-back.
Joel Matip is most likely to leave when his contract expires at the end of June and Gazzetta dello Sport (page 14) report that Huijsen is a top candidate to fill the void left by the experienced Cameroon star this summer.
The Reds have a keen interest in the promising teenager, who is currently on a season-long loan at Roma.
Roma are exploring the prospect of extending his loan stay for another year, but it is claimed that Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund & Newcastle United will try and tempt Juventus into selling Huijsen for €30 million.
Huijsen would be a fantastic long-term signing for Liverpool
The teenager has managed only 450 minutes of playing time in Serie A this season, but he has caught the eye with his performances.
