Sam Allardyce didn’t leave behind too many fond memories at Everton.

Big Sam only spent half a season at Goodison Park, and to say that the football was drab at times would be an understatement.

Allardyce did have a very respectable record with the Toffees, helping them to a mid-table finish after a disastrous start to the season, but fans quickly turned on his style of play.

Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Allardyce has now touched on his time at Everton, and he’s highlighted one player who was a bit of a nightmare for him on Merseyside.

Sam Allardyce says one Everton player was a disaster

Sam Allardyce spoke with Tony Pulis about Yannick Bolasie.

Big Sam says that the winger was a disaster at Everton due to his injury issues, claiming that he was actually desperate to have him in the team, but he couldn’t get him fit.

“I had him at Everton and he was a disaster. You know what it was, he never recovered from a cruciate. When I got there he was trying to recover from a cruciate do you know what I mean? We were desperate to get his pace down the wing,” Allardyce said.
